Important 401(k) updates

As part of UBS’s commitment to helping you save for a secure financial future, there are important updates to the UBS 401(k) Plan. The SECURE 2.0 Act expands opportunities to save more as you approach retirement and introduces new rules for how catch-up contributions are made.

Mandatory Roth catch-up contributions If you’re age 50 or older before December 31, 2026, you can make catch-up contributions during the 2026 Plan Year. Starting January 1, 2026, if your total 2025 FICA wages exceed $145,000, any catch-up contributions must be contributed as Roth contributions. If you would prefer to stop contributing once you reach the standard pre-tax annual limit, instead of contributing catch-up contributions as Roth, you may adjust your contribution elections at any time by visiting goto/usbenefits then navigating to Savings & Retirement > Change Contributions.

Super catch up (ages 60-63) If you’re age 60-63, you can make “super” catch-up contributions during the 2026 Plan Year. This allows for a higher contribution limit, providing an expanded opportunity to save through pre-tax and/or Roth contributions. The "super" catch-up will automatically continue until you reach the contribution limit. Those who turn age 64 during the 2026 Plan Year will revert back to the standard catch-up contribution limit.

Credit Suisse 401(k) plan update As previously announced, the Credit Suisse 401(k) Plan will merge with the UBS 401(k) Plan. At that time, all Credit Suisse 401(k) Plan accounts will be migrated to UBS 401(k) accounts. The Plans are expected to merge in 2027, and additional updates will be provided in 2026.

1Keep in mind that premiums, deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums are tied to your benefit elections, your Benefits Base Salary (BBS) and how many family members you cover. With an increase of approximately 6% in employee medical contributions for 2026, your costs may rise even if your elections and covered family members remain the same. Actual premium rates will continue to be based on your BBS, your plan choice and how many family members you choose to cover.

The 2026 medical plan employee contributions provided do not include the Tobacco User Surcharge.
